BEAN’S 26th

Last weekend, my Girlfriend celebrated her 26th year of existence. We invited a few good friends over to their place and it was a FUN night waiting to explode!

First group to arrive was, of course, my cousins and I. The guys are their Boyfriend and (special) friend.

My angels did the DYNAMITE! :)

We had dinner first before we got drunk. ;)

The queen of all queens that night was the 36” pizza from Big Guys! Pizza (https://www.facebook.com/pages/BIG-Guys-Pizza-Philippines/162486317095822). We had their Big Guys Specialty pizza which includes their TOP 4 Best sellers!

One by one and in groups of two, our friends started to crowd Girlfriend’s place. The night was young and so were we. :)

Yeah, so these were US before we all got wasted. The next post will contain (sensitive) photos.

Naaahhh… :)

3 Signs

I’m not all that cheesy but I do believe that everything happens for a reason and that my Girlfriend and I met because fate wanted us to. On our 1st or 2nd year as a couple I asked God for three signs. These signs would, at least, give me hope or a hint that we are meant to, either, last long or be together forever.

Yeah, cheesy shit but so what?

Anyway, here are the three signs I asked for:

Sign 1: Walk under the rain, unexpectedly

Because I love the rain and the code name I gave her was RAIN :)

This came true one rainy night and in the most unlikely place, we were in Divisoria when we ran under the rain and criss-crossed the human maze that was.

*Divisoria is a place in Manila where every thing and every kind of people are present. It is also one of the dirtiest places I’ve been to. No discrimination here, hey I’m a Filipino, but the place is dirty.

At least my first sign came true! ;)

Sign 2: See fireworks together, unexpectedly

Fireworks are better than firecrackers and fireworks are colourful and lovely to look at. :) Oh, I asked for this sign when fireworks was not yet that rampant in the Metro and when construction of Mall of Asia haven’t been started yet!

Sign 3: Rainbow

Besides the fact that I also love seeing a rainbow, I think this is the greatest sign I asked for. It’s like once in a blue moon thing to see a rainbow here in Manila. Even if there is a rainbow, with the kind of busy life we have here in the city, a second to look at the sky was almost impossible.

Also, to see a rainbow TOGETHER is also next to impossible. BOTTOMLINE: Rainbow is rare to catch and I would like my final sign to be as rare as possible (in my point-of-view). :)

And now, we’ve been together for 6 years and 7 months. Everyday is not a magical day for us, we had petty fights that can be so fucking irritating but at the end of the day we still go back to each other’s side. We are like magnets, the North and South pole, we tend to disagree but we also tend to love each other back so fucking great. :)

My girlfriend’s gone from dope to busy. :)

Today’s our day; 6 months to go until our 7th year. :)

Today’s our day; 6 months to go until our 7th year. :)

On the night of February 14, my GF and I walked around the mall not to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day (or as many perceive, Heart’s Day) but to have coffee. Yes, simple plain coffee night. We didn’t want to squeeze ourselves into the reservation lists of restaurants or wait in a long queue, and after like an eternity, can finally eat.
We’re not “Valentine poopers” nor are we tired of celebrating this “heart-felt” day. Its just that every single day we spend is like Valentine’s. Please, I’m not being too cheesy here but it’s true. We go out on dates, we go out to watch movies, we go out to have coffee almost every day. We stay at home to watch DVDs or downloaded movies and TV shows. We stay at home playing Ipad or Iphone games. We stay at home and have home-cooked meals (of course, cooked by me).
We celebrate each day with the ironies of being in a relationship. Why ironies? Because “it’s not always rainbows and butterflies, it’s compromise that moves us along.” We laugh, we shout, we cuddle, we fight but at the end of the day we still want to sleep and dream side by side.
So yeah.
Anyway, going back to our mall-walk we saw the usual and I think I don’t need to divulge more into this. What really struck me are the old couples. They were so sweet and touchy that night. Some wore the same color of shirts which was adorable. I even saw a grandma who wore a red mini dress with a back cut-out while her man wore a Lacoste collared shirt paired with khaki pants. Whew, sexy!
But of course there were people who are “too cool” to celebrate Valentine’s with their partner. I have this friend who thinks it’s too cheesy and redundant to give gifts or flowers on this particular day. He even said that it irritates him to see people carrying flowers rushing to meet their loved ones.
C’mon! I admit I don’t want to join the fuss but I’m not a pooper. I respect the celebration of Heart’s Day. I mean, who are we to say what’s cheesy or not for people who treated that day as the only day that they had a time to bond with their partners?
I guess, he is too cool for that. (Ugh)
Boo to those who ruin February 14.
Boo to those who think love is such a sick puppy’s issue.
Boo to those who think they are too cool for Valentine’s.
YEAY TO PEOPLE WHO RESPECT VALENTINE’S DAY AND TO THOSE WHO THINK THAT LOVE IS FOR EVERYONE TO SHARE AND FEEL, NOT JUST ON 2-14 BUT EVERY FUCKING DAY! :)

I love Google’s Valentine’s themed banner. Well, I’m not really sure if “banner’s” the right term for it. Anyway, their illustrations definitely promote that LOVE is for EVERYONE to feel and share. I didn’t really think that I will join the fuss but hell yeah, Happy Hearts Day everyone! :)
